Rapper Prezzo To Appear In Court This Thursday Over Assault Charges

The rapper will be in court July 21, 2016 to face assault charges.

Local rapper Jackson Ngechu Makini alias Prezzo is expected in court on Thursday to answer to charges of assault and creating disturbance.

Prezzo was arrested on Saturday afternoon at Nyayo estate after allegedly slapping KQ pilot Stanley Kipchumba.

Embakasi DCIO Ephantus Kimulwa said that the rapper had been in police custody and was released on a police cash bail of Sh20,000 on Sunday evening.

Prezzo faces two counts of assault and creating disturbance.

Kimulwa told the Star on phone: “At around noon on Saturday, [Kipchumba] drove into Nyayo Estate where he resides, and parked his car.

"As he was offloading shopping items from the boot, Prezzo with two other men, seemingly inebriated, approached [Kipchumba] and asked him to drop them in town. [Kipchumba] responded that he does not operate a taxi.

"At this point, Prezzo asked him, “ Kwani hujui mimi ni nani ?” (You don’t know who I am?)

Prezzo then allegedly threatened and slapped the pilot who called the estate security, after which police were called to arrest the rapper.

Kimulwa, however, has discounted reports doing rounds on social media that guns were drawn during the incident.

This is not the first incident Prezzo has been arrested for.
